ANGUS

ANGUS (short for Acoustically Navigated Geological Underwater Survey) was the first unmanned search and survey system developed by the Woods

Hole Oceanographic Institution in the 1970s. It was designed to work primarily in extremely rugged volcanic terrain to depths of 20,000 feet, within reach of 98 percent of the ocean floor.

ANGUS was the only vehicle used in both the discovery expedition in 1985, and the return mission to the Titanic in 1986.
