—Anatoly Mikailavich to Brock Lovett

Anatoly Milkailavich is a fictional minor character in the 1997 film Titanic. He was one of the crew of the Keldysh, a Russian research ship that explored the wreck of the RMS Titanic, led by Brock Lovett. He was portrayed by actor Anatoly Sagalevich.

He appeared when Brock Lovett and his crew "managed" to retrieve Caledon Hockley's safe, which supposedly contained the Heart of the Ocean. He and the crew of Keldysh celebrate his "success" on deck, only to find that the safe does not contain the diamond, instead containing the remains of rotten paper and a drawing book. The crew, including Anatoly, are disappointed.

It was revealed that the picture book they found contained a painting of a naked woman wearing the Heart of the Ocean, surprising the crew. Their discovery was then broadcast on television. Later, a 100 year old woman named Rose Calvert called Brock Lovett and confessed that she was the woman who wore the diamonds in the painting.

Rose is then invited to Keldysh to tell what she knows about the Heart of the Ocean, Anatoly and Keldysh's crew then listen to Rose's experiences while on the Titanic, including the romance between her and Jack Dawson, making Anatoly and the crew teary.

  • The character's first name is the same as the actor's first name, Anatoly Sagalevich.
  • Anatoly Sagalevich actually helped with James Cameron's expeditions to the wreck.
  • Although Anatoly Mikailavich is only a minor character in the film, the actor is included in the main cast.
