Miss Augusta Charlotta Lindblom was 45 years old Swedish passenger, travelling aboard Titanic.
Miss Augusta Charlotta Lindblom was born on 20 January 1867. She was a native from Kattnäs, Södermanland, Sweden, where she grew up. Her father was Adolf Lindblom and her mother was Anna Maria Andersdotter. She had one older sister from 1863, Christina Albetina who was born in 1863 and an younger brother, Karl Vilhelm who was born in 1873.
It is not clear-cut where she resided in 1912, it is believed she lived in Katrinenäs, Södermanland, another source says it was Stockholm. She never got married.
Augusta's sister, who was married, wrote a letter to her from Connecticut, asking if she would visit her. Augusta Lindblom had been persuaded by letter Several any other relatives lived in the USA as well. On the 30th of March she obtained an emigration certificate on 30 March.
She came aboard the Titanic at Southampton in Third Class. She was headed for her sister’s home on Nicholls Ave. in Stratford. Described by her friend and fellow passenger Agnes Sandström as being “afraid of everything,”
After Titanic had a collision with an iceberg, she was so stressed out that she retreated to her cabin, locked her door and went to bed. She apparently went down with the ship while still in her cabin. A pretty unique story.
