Berthe Antonine Mayné was a First Class passenger of the Titanic. She survived the sinking of this ship.

She was Quigg Edmond Baxter's lover, and he had persuaded her to come with him to his home in Montreal. They boarded the Titanic as First Class passengers and, for the sake of propriety, he installed her in her own First Class stateroom, C-90, under the pseudonym. "Madame de Villiers."

The night of the sinking, Baxter rushed her into lifeboat 6 with his mother and sister. She slipped a long woollen overcoat over her nightdress, but balked when Quigg wanted her to go in the boat without him. She wanted to back to her cabin to get some jewelry, but Denver socialite Margaret Brown talked her out of it. Quigg died in the sinking.

No, it's not safe, no! I want to go back to my cabin. My jewels!"
"Don't be a damn fool, honey. They won't be any use if this thing sinks. Now go ahead. Do as the man says.

—Berthe Mayné and Margaret Brown

Berthe Mayné was portrayed by actress Carolle Rousseau in S.O.S. Titanic, credited as "Madame de Villiers". She appeared during the loading of lifeboat 6, where she asked Second Officer Lightoller why the funnel had stopped emitting, which Lightoller later countered that the boiler was cold and that the ship was not moving.

Lightoller immediately urged Berthe to get into the lifeboat, but she repeatedly refused to return to her cabin to get her jewels, but is then stopped by Margaret Brown, who told her that her jewels will be of no use if the ship sinks. Berthe finally relented and she was immediately dropped into the lifeboat along with Mrs. Brown.

Darta Danevica as Berthe Mayné in Curiosity: What Sank Titanic?

Berthe Mayné was portrayed by Darta Danevica in the Curiosity What Sank Titanic/Channel 5 Inside the Titanic Documentary. The plot focuses heavily on her affair with Quigg Baxter; however the account, as most other things in the story, is fictionalized. It claims that a steward locked her in her cabin after she went back for her scrapbook, and Quigg had to save her by knocking in the door with a hat stand as the room flooded. This is inaccurate for multiple reasons; mostly due to the fact the cabin wouldn't have even flooded until after the breakup. All and all it seems their story is a subtle copy of Jack and Rose.
