Bjorn first appeared when Jack Dawson and Fabrizio de Rossi entered Bjorn's and his brother Olaus' cabin. Jack and Fabrizio introduced themselves to them, puzzling him to ask where Sven and Olaf were.
During the Third Class party on the evening of April 13, Bjorn spoke briefly to Rose DeWitt Bukater, asking if she could speak Swedish. Rose couldn't understand what he was saying, upsetting Bjorn.

He was then seen arm wrestling match with Tommy Ryan, and was able to beat him. Rose then walked over to them, grabbed Tommy's cigaret to have a puff, and drawed their attention, by saying: "You tough men, can you do this?" Then she showed one of her skills by putting all her weight on her toes, rising till she was standing completely stretched out, till it hurt. Bjorn was very impressed and applauded her.
When the Titanic sank, Bjorn, Olaus, and Fabrizio woke up by the tremor from the impact of the iceberg collision, and 20 minutes later, after midnight, they were shocked to find their cabin submerged in water. They immediatly got up and dressed, and Tommy joined their group. They followed the rats who also were fleeing from the water.
Bjorn was last seen with Olaus avoiding a Collapsible B who fell onto the deck overturned, almost hits them. It can be assumed that they failed to board Collapsible B and died of hypothermia.
