Brock Lovett is a character that appears in the 1997 film Titanic. He is a treasure hunter, searching for the Heart of the Ocean on the RMS Titanic.

About[]
Brock is a treasure hunter. Once said to have found Spanish gold, in 1997 he is after the Heart of the Ocean. His partners are Dave and Barry, and by the intimidated way he talks with them, they are perhaps his investors. His peers include Lewis Bodine and Bobby Buell.
He is on board the Akademik Mstislav Keldysh doing operations for recovering the necklace. He keeps a "celebration cigar" for after the discovery of the necklace. Although his critics challenge the salvage rights and ethics, Lovett claims that he is working alongside museum experts and his findings are treated accordingly.
His first success, the discovery of Caledon Hockley's safe proves to be a failure, until he identifies Rose DeWitt Bukater's drawing while she is wearing the Heart of the Ocean.
Tracy presented Brock's discovery on the news, allowing Rose to contact him.
Deleted Scene[]
The scene appears when Ross throw the Diamond into the sea and Brock at first distraught and tries to stop her. She allows him to hold briefly before throwing it into the sea. At first, he despairs at the loss and then surrenders and laughs at what he feels was treasure and it’s implied that the real treasure he finds is her granddaughter, Lizzie, as he asks her to dance which she happily accepts potentially also bringing about a new beginning for them as a couple.
Notes[]
- Brock is hinted to have a fancy towards Rose’s granddaughter, Lizzie and she seems to be receptive. She is seen arguing with him and even sympathetic, even accepting his proposal to dance.
