Cabins C-62/64 were a set of Parlor Suites on the port side of C-Deck on the Titanic. The Sitting Room C-62 was decorated in Louis XV style and had a decorative non-functional fireplace. Above the fireplace was a mirror, unlike it's counterpart C-55, which included a painting above the mantle. The lavish sitting room also came with a table, writing desk, storage drawers and plenty of wooden upholstered chairs around the room and the table.
It was thought to have been occupied by Colonel John Jacob Astor and Madeleine Astor, the wealthiest couple on the ship, but there is no real evidence to support the fact that they stayed in the suite.
Also to note is that the Astor's were travelling with their valet; Victor Robins, Madeleine's maid; Rosalie Bidois, along with Mrs Astor's nurse; Caroline Louise Endres. It seems to be unknown if the servants had shared a suite with the Astor's, or stayed in any First Class accommodation. The parlour suites however, were designed to have one bedroom in the middle to occupy possible valets and maids, while the paying couple would stay in the aft most room, which in this case was C-66, but since the middle room, C-64 came with only two beds, the occupancy would not fit all three servants, so it is likely that they stayed elsewhere.
It is most likely that the Astor's did not occupy C-66, but only stayed in the forward rooms, C-62 and C-64.
