Cal's Crying Girl in one of the deleted scene

She first briefly appeared in a deleted scene in Scotland Road on E Deck with her mother, father, sister and two brothers. Her mother urged the younger of the older brothers to hold her hand, at which the father also told the two siblings to stay together.

Note: Not confirmed but it also possible that she briefly appears by the railing when Jack first sees Rose at the stern and in the Deleted Third Class scene, as well as when Tommy and Fabrizio go by the locked gate.

Caledon Hockley and Rhoda Mary Abbott

She was separated from her family before Cal found her, crying behind an electric winch on the starboard side boat deck just outside of the first class entrance. However, Cal's rescue of her was not only out of part heroism, but also using her for his own interests to gain access into Collapsible A. As the crew forbade men to board unless they were in the company of children and not accompanied by a woman.

Trivia[]

  • The character may have been inspired by the Unnamed Girl Child on Titanic (1943), where the little girl was somehow abandoned by her mother and eventually rescued.
  • In real life, there are no child has managed to board the Collapsible A.
  • The woman who took care of the girl was Rhoda Abbott. In real life, Rhoda doesn't board the Collapsible A until someone pulls her in, while in the film she is already shown sitting next to Cal. Her sons Rossmore and Eugene are not shown.
  • It seems that her entire family perished in the sinking, as she is seen still in Rhoda Abbott's care on the Carpathia. However, this does not mean that her parents died. the reason why the girl is seen at Rhoda Abbott's place is maybe because she liked her. because she was taking care of her on the boat.
