First Class passengers were the wealthiest people aboard Titanic, who got the best accomodation, the most space, promenade decks and luxurious rooms. Plenty of entertainment was provided for them. New innovative places such as the À la Carte Restaurant, Cafe Parisien, Squash Court, Turkish Baths and Swimming Bath. Among them were many famous people of that time. The people involved belonged to the crème the la crème, movie stars, bankers, gentlemen, influencial writers, high-placed officers in the army, and those who owned several big businesses. A mix of heirs, royalty but also new money, self-made men, writers, succesful sportsmen. There was also a few rich families who had children with them. Some of them owned pets, mostly dogs, which were kept in special Kennels on the ship.
Their passengerlist is documented the most accurately and they were the first group of passengers, mostly women that were allowed into the lifeboats. The Harland & Wolff employer, Thomas Andrews, Head of the Garantuee Group, also took passage in First Class. The First Class passengers often dined on large tables and sometimes Captain Smith joined them.
