Charles Alexander Fortune

Charles Alexander Fortune was a First Class passenger on the RMS Titanic.

Charles Alexander Fortune was born in Winnipeg, Canada in the year 1892, the last child of Mark Fortune and Mary Fortune McDougald. In 1911, he graduated from Bishop's College in Lennoxville, Quebec with citations for academic and athletic excellence. Before enrolling at McGrill University, his parents decided to go on a grand tour of Europe with him and three of his sisters (Ethel Flora Fortune, Alice Elizabeth Fortune, and Mabel Helen Fortune).

To return to Manitoba, Canada, the entire Fortune family (Mark, Mary, Ethel, Alice, Mabel, and Charles) decided to board the Titanic. They boarded at Southampton on April 10, 1912 as First Class passengers. Charles was in cabin C-23. On the night of the sinking (April 14–15, 1912), Charles and his father Mark Fortune stayed on the ship while his mother and sisters boarded lifeboat 10.

Before doing so, they gave her all their money and jewelry since they would see each other again later. However, that was the last time he was seen alive.

Unfortunately, Charles and his father Mark went down with the Titanic and their bodies have never been recovered.
