In one of the deleted scenes, Helga introduces herself to Fabrizio, with his English still halting, Fabrizio taught her to spell his name, and they start to like eachother. Her eyes caught Rose immediately when she came to Jack, because she wondered why there was a First Class lady in the Third Class area. Tommy, Fabrizio and Helga laughed together when they saw Jack managed to attract a first class lady.

Helga doesn't appear again until the Titanic begins to sink after hitting an iceberg. In a deleted scene, Helga is trapped behind a gate guarded by Steward 3. She meets up with Jack and Rose, with Fabrizio close behind. When he asked her to come with him to America, she refused (because of her demanding parents' orders) and stated that she could not, however, they both still loved each other.

Helga stares at Rose

A very long time later, Steward 3 finally let the passengers out. Helga rushed up to the deck but by then the boats were gone. At Titanic's final moments, she went up to the stern with her family. At the last two minutes, when Titanic had broken in half, and the stern had risen again, to an angle of 90 degrees, she was hanging by the rail. She and Rose exchanged a brief glance as her father behind her looked down in horror.

Helga stares at Rose hopelessly before she falls to her death

Her father was the first one to fall from the railing. Then, next to her, a ship's officer fell. Then, finally her mother. The last one left, and hanging onto the horizantal railing, Helga looks hopelessly up at Rose, who sadly watches her slipping and falling from the rails to her death.

When Rose finds herself in a Heaven-like version of the Titanic, Helga and Fabrizio can be seen next to the Grand Staircase as Rose approaches Jack, with Helga happily clinging to Fabrizio's side. They clap when Rose and Jack kiss, and are almost the closest people to them.

Trivia[]

  • In the original script, she was supposed to be a secondary character in the film with the love story between her and Fabrizio much more revealing.
  • In the theatrical release, almost all of her scenes were cut, even her name was never mentioned, making her into a minor character.
  • As her screams were still heard after she fell, it suggests she did not die on impact. It is mostly likely that her ultimate fate was drowning or hypothermia.
