When Jamie arrived, he told him that a steward had brought 25 women and children to the boat deck but had not returned yet. Jamie told him and Jack's family to come with him to the boat deck. When they reached the third class main gate, a crew refused to open it without orders. But after seeing Aase who was injured, he relented and let Aase, Jamie and several women out, but the gate was immediately closed again, while he and Jack's family were still locked there. Jamie promised them that he would come back and find a way to get them out.
Unaware that Jamie would never return because he was already in a lifeboat, he and Black Billy Jack were forced to break down the gate and rush to the boat deck. He didn't appear again after that. It is assumed that he did not survive and go down with the Titanic.
