When the Titanic sank, he, his mother and sister and many other passengers were waiting for the third class main gate to be open. A steward informed to them that it was still not time to get on the boat deck. He asked to his mother; "What do we doing, mommy?", His mother replied that we were waiting for the first class passengers to be put into the lifeboats, only then was their turn. His mother told him and his sister to be ready.

—Irish Mother

It is not known what they did afterward, apparently they made it to the Boat Deck but could not find the lifeboats. So his mother took him and his sister back to their cabin, where his mother lulled him and his sister while telling the story of "Tale of Tír Na Nóg", as the ship's final plunge began. The three of them died together in their cabin.
