Julia Florence Ismay (March 5th, 1867 - December 31st, 1963) was the wife of Chairman of the White Star Line, Joseph Bruce Ismay.

Early Life[]
Julia was born as Julia Florence Schieffelin on 5th March 1867 in Manhattan, USA. She was the daughter of George Richard Schieffelin and Julia Matilda (Delaplaine) Schieffelin.
She has 4 siblings: Margaret Helen Trevor, Sarah Dorothy Schieffelin, Matilda Constance Ismay dan George Richard Delaplaine Schieffelin.
Marriage[]
On 4 December 1888, Julia was married to Joseph Bruce Ismay (12 December 1862 - 17 October 1937), son of Thomas Henry Ismay, the Chairman of the White Star Line, with she whom he had five children: Margaret Bruce Ismay (29 December 1889 – 15 May 1967), who married George Ronald Hamilton Cheape (1881–1957) in 1912, Henry Bruce Ismay (3 April 1891 – 1 October 1891), Thomas Bruce Ismay (18 February 1894 – 27 April 1954), who married Jane Margaret Seymour, Evelyn Constance Ismay (17 July 1897 – 9 August 1940), who married Basil Sanderson (1894–1971) in 1927, George Bruce Ismay (6 June 1902 – 30 April 1943), who married Florence Victoria Edrington in 1926.
Her husband died on 17 October 1937. Florence later renounced her British subject status in order to restore her American citizenship on 14 November 1949.

Julia was portrayed by actress Barbara Ewing, appears in the film's first scene in Southampton. She was invited by Ismay to tour the ship, admire the honor and glory crowning clock at the Grand Staircase, greets John Jacob Astor and Madeleine Astor, and go see the Gymnasium where they met Thomas Andrews.
