Mansouer Nofal was a passenger on the Titanic.
Mansouer Nofal was born in 1892 somewhere in Syria. He was migrated to Canada and worked as a journalist. He must have naturalised his name. He lived in Kafr Mishkī in 1912 but wanted to return to Ottawa in Canada, where he and many other Syrians lived.
On April 10, he was in Cherbourg to embark on the Titanic at the evening. He traveled in Third Class.
On the night of April 14, there was a situation when the ship hit an iceberg that couldn't be seen until it was right there, in front of her. From the damage when the ship struck the mass on starboard, water was getting in at a rapid rate.
On April 15, after midnight, the lifeboats were prepared for evacuation on Captain’s orders. He knew the ship would sink. Little is known about Mansouer Nofal's whereabouts and actions during the night, but he became a victim in the disaster as Titanic sank at 2:20 A.M.
His body was recovered by the Mackay-Bennett a few days later. Mansouer Nofal was number #181. He was given a sea burial after identification.
