Olaus Gunderson is a fictional minor character in the 1997 film Titanic. He boarded the Titanic with his brother, Bjorn Gunderson as a Third Class passenger. He was played by Swedish actor Anders Falk.
Role in the 1997 film[]
He first appeared sitting on his bunk in his cabin G-60, with Bjorn, while Jack Dawson and Fabrizio de Rossi arrive and introduce themselves to them. Olaus and Bjorn are a little surprised and wonder where Sven is.
Olaus reappears during the Third Class party in the General Room, where he stands next to Olaf Dahl watching his brother have arm wrestle match with Tommy Ryan. When Rose DeWitt Bukater came to them showing her "skills", Olaus and the other passengers were impressed.
When the Titanic hit an iceberg, the resulting vibrations woke Olaus, Bjorn, and Fabrizio. They were shocked when water flooded their cabin and immediately fled.
He and Bjorn were last seen waiting for Collapsible B, the last lifeboat on the port side to be dropped from above of the Officer's Quarters. However, the boat landed upside down while Olaus and Bjorn ran to avoid it.
Most likely they both failed to board Collapsible B and died of hypothermia.
Trivia[]
- Olaus does not have a single line in the entire 1997 film.
