Trivia[]
- Although that he is a fictional character, he is based off several Irish immigrants onboard the Titanic.
- Murphy's name is probably taken from the name Catherine Murphy, an Irish third class passenger girl, who was one of the people who was escorted by James Farrell in the Lifeboat 16. Catherine also had a brother named Patrick Murphy, which was not on the Titanic.
