This is a list of movies and TV show episodes that feature references to the RMS Titanic or James Cameron's 1997 film.
Nickelodeon[]
Hey Arnold![]
- In the Season 1 episode, Tour de Pond, during Grandpa Phil's flashback when he tells Arnold and Gerald about when he raced his boat, the S.S. Gibraltar in the Tour de Pond boat race when he was a boy, young Rex Smythe-Higgins' boat's design resembled the RMS Titanic.
- In the Season 3 episode, The Flood, Grandpa Phil uses a rescue raft named "Titanic", as seen inside the greenhouse. This was considered that the RMS Titanic was infamous for it's sinking.
Rugrats[]
- In the Season 8 episode, The Age of Aquarium, when the Rugrats' parents, Stu, Didi, Chas, Kira, Betty and Howard go into the marine theme park's exhibit of sea disasters, there is huge scale model of the RMS Titanic (which was colored red and blue instead of it's actual colors). Later, after the Rugrats accidentally caused the the aquarium to get flooded, what happens in the disaster exhibit during the flood fittingly resembles the Titanic disaster off the coast of Newfoundland in 1912. This was the same disaster made popular by a 1997 film, Titanic, by James Cameron, as when the platform with robotic sharks attached to it break holes in the Titanic model's hull, it's causes the model of the ship to sink and same way the real ship did, with it's stern rising, and then breaking in half in the process before disappearing completely.
Rugrats Go Wild[]
- In the crossover movie between Rugrats and The Wild Thornberrys, when the Rugrats and their parents were sailing on Stu's ramshackle boat, the S.S. Nancy, Angelica stood on the bow of the boat holding up Cynthia and she sung, "I'm Queen of the World!", and also the song Rose played in the background as the Nancy sailed out at sea. This is referenced from James Cameron's Titanic, when Jack Dawson was standing on the bow of the RMS Titanic and shouted, "I'm King of the World!".
The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius[]
- The title of the Season 1 episode, Raise the Oozy Scab, was taken from the title of the 1980 film, Raise the Titanic!. However, despite the title, the sunken pirate ship, the Oozy Scab wasn't raised to the surface like the RMS Titanic was in the film by Jimmy and his friends at all, just it's treasure chest.
The Fairly OddParents[]
- In the Season 3 episode, Where’s Wanda?, during movie night, James Cameron’s Titanic is seen in the background as one of the movie projects in the movie night fair.
- In the Season 8 episode, Meet the OddParents, when Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda, Poof, Mr. and Mrs. Turner travel all around the world, in an album photograph, there’s a picture of Timmy, his fairy godparents and his parents swimming around the wreck of the RMS Titanic. However, the picture has several errors.
- When the Titanic sank into the ocean, the steam poles got disconnected from the ship. In the picture, they are connected to it.
- The Titanic’s metal fence was covered in rusticles. In the picture, it appears as a wooden fence and it isn’t covered in rusticles.
- The ship’s front floor was white instead of iron. In the picture it was brown and made of wood.
- The ship doesn’t anymore have it’s name “Titanic” written on it’s sides. In the picture, the name was seen written on it.
Since the Titanic had been sunk a long time ago, and it’s now all rusted and covered in rusticles, then the ship’s name shouldn’t have been able to be visible. Also the Titanic’s name appeared in the picture to overlap the rusticles.
The Thundermans[]
- In season 1 episode 11, Hank builds a 3D puzzle which is the RMS Titanic.
Cartoon Network[]
Codename: Kids Next Door[]
- In the series finale, Operation: I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S., when the Delightful Children From Down the Lane were feeling delighted thinking they were finally going to eat their birthday cake without sharing it with anyone, they stand on the bow of a cruise ship they’re on and pose in the flying pose that Jack Dawson stood in James Cameron’s Titanic, while Numbuh 1 of Sector V spied on them.

- In Scooby-Doo! Pirates Ahoy!, when Fred was captaining the mystery cruise ship, Poseidon, Scooby and Shaggy stand on the ship’s bow and Shaggy posed in the flying pose Jack Dawson stood in and he said, “I’m King of the World!”, and Scooby adds, “Me too!”, which is referenced from James Cameron’s Titanic when Jack was standing on the RMS Titanic’s bow shouting, “I’m King of the World!”.

Ghostbusters II[]
- On New Year’s Eve 1989, a police man on the phone at the Port Authority Office tells the lieutenant to talk on the phone to a dock supervisor down at Pier 34. He tells him that he just said that the Titanic had just arrived. The ghost ship of the RMS Titanic is then seen docked at Pier 34. The ship was possessed a massive hole on her starboard bow, exposing where the iceberg hit and towards the rear, the ship was broken in half, misshaped and mangled. The ghosts of the passengers that died in the sinking are seen getting off the ship. As the dock supervisor and his assistant, who called the office when they witnessed the Titanic’s arrival, watch the people get off the ship, he says, “Well, better late then never.”.
Sony Pictures Animation[]
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation[]
- In the third film of the Hotel Transylvania franchise, Count Dracula, his daughter Mavis Dracula, her husband Jonathan Loughran, their son Dennis and the rest of the monsters board a cruise ship called the Legacy for a tropical getaway. The Legacy's main design resembles the RMS Titanic, even one of the movie's posters has Dracula in the flying pose that Rose was in from the James Cameron Titanic movie, however, the Titanic had four funnels, the Legacy had five. It also resembles the S.S. Queen Mary, in addition to elements from the RMS Lusitania, RMS Mauretania, and other ocean liners of the Cunard Line.
PBS Kids[]
Arthur[]
- In the Season 7 episode, Jenna’s Bedtime Blues, at Muffy’s slumber party, when the Muffy, Francine, Prunella, Fern and Jenna were playing on a fake ship, the girls reenact the sinking of the Titanic.
- In the television special, It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll, during the song, Manager of My Dreams, Muffy and the Backstreet Boys are seen singing on a ship called the S.S. Gigantic, which looks just like and is based on the RMS Titanic, this was also the original name of it’s sister ship, HMHS Britannic. Also during the song, one of the members of the band, Nick Carter, poses Muffy at the ship’s bow in the same flying position Jack posed Rose in James Cameron's Titanic. When the Gigantic approaches the iceberg, Muffy uses her cellphone to alert the captain there’s an iceberg right ahead, and the captain turns the wheel as hard as he could, and unlike what happened to Titanic, the Gigantic avoids the iceberg causing it not sink at the end of the song.
Hit Entertainment[]
Thomas & Friends[]
- Throughout the series, there’s an ocean cruise liner at Brendam Docks called the S.S. Roxstar, which is based on the German ocean liner scuttled in World War I, the S.S. Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse, and that closely resembles many famous luxury liners like White Star Line’s RMS Titanic and it’s sister ships, HMHS Britannic and RMS Olympic, as well as Cunard Line’s RMS Lusitania.
- In the Season 21 episode, Terence Breaks the Ice, after Thomas rescues Terence, when the Christmas Tree sinks to the bottom of the lake, Terence apologizes to it and music that sounds very similar to the soundtrack of James Cameron’s Titanic plays. This is similar to in the film when Rose apologizes to Jack after he dies before letting go of him, letting him sink into the water. Also, Terence was wrapped in a blanket afterwards, just like Rose was.
Comedy Central[]
The Simpsons[]
The Simpson movie from 2007 had a reference when a rock band, Green Day, had a concert stage on a lake. It was made out of wood. When the leader of the group suddenly stops to raise awareness about pollution, the crowd boos and throws stuff at them. In the meantime, the pollution in the lake disintegrates the bottom of their stage, which starts to overflow with water. When the platform sinks with one side down, the trio whip out violins to play the first tunes of 'Nearer My God To Thee' in the similiar fashion as Titanic's Orchestra and also utter just about the same last words as the musicians in James Cameron's 1997 film, before their platform sinks dramatically like the Titanic with them falling off in a way that also could be seen as a nod to the 1997 movie.
BBC[]
Top Gear[]
- In season 10, episode 2 of the motoring show 'Top Gear', Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are being challenged to make new amphibious cars to cross the Channel from Dover in England to France. As Jeremy inspects Richard's VW van-boat, he is wondering about the wheelarches that could let water in and mentions the Titanic briefly, which he very simplistically describes as "I've seen Titanic. Got a hole and it sank." As Richard explains he uses foam to seal the holes, Jeremy responds with: "Oh I see, so if Titanic had been filled with foam, it would have been here today" Richard summarises it: "Yeah, but they didn't know that with their technology, you can't knock them for that."
