The Slovakian Father is a minor character in Titanic (1997). He was the father of Slovakian 3 Year Old Boy. He was portrayed by Martin Hub.

Biography[]

The Slovakian Father married a woman at some point and had a son around 1909-1910. Three years later, when the father was in his late thirties, they needed to get to New York City, so booked passage on RMS Titanic.

During the sinking, the mother was missing and the father had to go get something elsewhere. The little boy was left in the corridor alone. As the water began to rise, he called for the father, prompting Third-Class Passenger Jack Dawson and First-Class Passenger Rose DeWitt Bukkater to try and rescue the boy. The father then saw them do this and believed it as a kidnapping, cursing them out in Slovakian. They ran to get a suitcase of luggage and noticed the double doors began to blast down. As they tried to turn and Jack and Rose tried to warn them, the door gave way and killed them.

Trivia[]

Martin Hub was also in Saving Private Ryan as a German soldier posing as a Czechslovakian man. In the script, it says that he is trying to lie about his identity, but Mart Hub was clever and new Czech while the filmers and directors did not, so instead he yelled (in Czech) "Don't shoot, don't shoot! We stumbled onto the movie set by accident and the director is using real bullets!"
