It smells so brand new, like they built it just for us. I mean, just to think that tonight, when I crawl between the sheets, I'll be the first!

—Trudy Bolt to Rose DeWitt Bukater

She first appeared in the boarding scene at Southampton carrying Rose's things and coat behind her. She appeared again in Rose's cabin taking her paintings out of their storage. When Rose looked to a Picasso drawing, Trudy asked the artist's name and Rose answered "something Picasso".

They're fascinating. Like being inside a dream or something. There's truth but no logic."

When Cal discovered that Rose attended a third-class party with Jack, he confronted Rose at breakfast and ended up flipping over the breakfast table before leaving. Upon entering the room, Trudy helped frantic Rose pick up the remains of the table, assuring her that everything will be alright.

Ruth DeWitt Bukater, Trudy Bolt, and Ruth's Personal Maid

During the sinking, Rose, Ruth, Cal, Trudy and Ruth's personal maid headed for the boat deck through the First-Class staircase. Ruth asked her personal maid and Trudy to turn on the heaters in her stateroom, and also to make a cup of tea (unaware of the severity of the situation). Trudy complied, and handed Ruth a fur pelt and a lifebelt before leaving with Ruth's personal maid.

They went and made tea and turned on the heaters when they heard voices and knocking in the corridor and stepped out to find Mr. Andrews pounding on doors frantically. Trudy and the other maid left to go find their group, and seconds later Rose would have asked Mr. Andrews for some directions to where the master-at-arms would take someone under arrest.

—Tom to Trudy Bolt

By the time Trudy realized how serious the situation, Trudy and Ruth's personal maid seemed to be looking for Rose, Cal and Ruth (even though Ruth was already on a lifeboat, while Rose went below deck to save Jack).

Trudy slipped to her death

Strangely, when Cal and Lovejoy returned to the cabin, they did not meet Trudy or Ruth's personal Maid, implying that they were looking for Rose and Ruth. Until all the boats have been launched, Trudy and Ruth's Personal Maid remained on the ship, trying to look for Rose and Ruth. After hours, they realized that they were either evacuated or dead, but by then it was too late for them as the lifeboats were all gone and the collapsibles A & B had floated away long ago. Stuck on the A-Deck Promenade, and with the ship tilting to 45 degrees, Trudy sought her last refuge with a man named Tom. As she lost grip, he yelled at her to hang on, but she couldn't, and fell down the slope of 300 feet to her death.
