Edith Evans is one of my favorite passengers. I've always wanted to know, why didn't Edith Evans get on the Collapsible D? some accounts state that an officer said that Collapsible D was full and could only accommodate 1 more woman, which was eventually filled by Caroline Lane Brown (as we saw in A Night to Remember), then Seaman Lucas shouted to her that there is another boat waiting for Evans. But, wasn't Collapsible D launched only half full? whether Evans deliberately stepped aside (because according to the article I've read, Evans had a prediction that she would die in the water) or maybe she failed to get into Collapsible D because it was lowered too quickly?
