Wenzel Linhart was a pastry chef from Vienna, and a passenger on the Titanic. He was the son of Katerina Linhart. The identity of his father is unknown, all we know is that he died at some point, making his wife a widow. Wenzel was born in 1884 in Lhota, Bohemia.
Little is known about Wenzel, his occupation was listed as baker and it is believe he shared a Third Class cabin #58 on F-Deck, a cabin for six near the bow of the ship. He shared the room with Josef Arnold, Leo Zimmermann, Anton Kink, Vincenz Kink and Albert Wirz. He boarded the Titanic at Southampton.
He perished in the disaster.
His body was recovered by the Mackay-Bennett, as number 298 and he was buried in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Halifax, Nova Scotia. His mother assumed he had joined the Titanic as a steward and applied for compensation under the Workers Compenstion Act. The London consul confirmed Linhart had boarded as a passenger and his mother eventually received £50 from the Titanic Relief Fund.
